I can't even tell you how happy it makes me every time I see a commercial promoting the season premiere of "Medium" (tonight at 9 p.m. on CBS). I'm fairly convinced that CBS has promoted the show more over the past few months that NBC did during its entire five year run on the peacock network. (Everyone together now, booo NBC. BOOOOO!) There are so many good things about "Medium" making a move to CBS. The show is premiering in the fall, even during the official fall premiere week. It's getting a compatible lead in with "Ghost Whisperer." And it has a 22-episode order for the season. But the best part is that we, as viewers, weren't left hanging with Allison in a coma and the words "to be continued" on the screen.

I'm a fan of the series. I like the actors. I like that Patricia Arquette's Allison Dubois dresses and looks like a real person. I think the show has one of the most realistic, loving portrayals of long and lasting marriage and some of the best child actors in prime time (I absolutely adore Maria Lark as Bridget). All that plus a pretty decent mystery of the week. A few years ago, I referred to "Medium" as the best comfort food on TV and I still think that's true. I don't think I'm ruining anything by telling you that Allison does come out of her coma (there wouldn't be a show without her, would there?) but that's all I say about tonight's episode, except that I really enjoyed it. I'm hoping all of you have the ability to handle two shows in the same time slot tonight because I'm also hoping you will check out the second season premiere of "Dollhouse" at 9 p.m. on FOX.

As you know, I really rooted for this show last season. I thought it had a ton of potential, improved with each passing episode and ended on a fairly exciting cliffhanger. All that goodness continues in the premiere. Smartly, the series has moved Agent Paul Ballard (Tahmoh Penikett) into the Dollhouse and given him a fairly plausible reason for switching sides (I just decided to go with it). Whiskey/Dr. Saunders (the always wonderful Amy Acker) is struggling with her recent revelation that she to is an active. And guest stars include Alexis Denisof as a wealthy senator (he just appears briefly in the premiere, but we'll see more of him as the season progresses) and Jamie Bamber as part of Echo's latest mission. The most exciting change is the changes that are happening to Echo herself, which I won't ruin here if somehow you managed to avoid them.

I haven't been this excited about Friday night TV in a long time. Will you be watching "Medium" and "Dollhouse" tonight? Are you excited for their premieres ? Talk about it below.
