He spent three nights in a Nigerian prison, countless hours on the back of Mick Jagger's motorbike and a few tense moments with a half-kilo of cocaine strapped to his body while a customs officer eyed him at an Irish airport. Even for the free-wheeling 1960s, that's enough adventure to last at least a few lifetimes. Jake Weber accomplished all of it before he was 12.

Weber, 46, who for the past five seasons has played the very picture of familial stability as down-to-earth dad Joe Dubois on Medium (premiering Sept. 25 on CBS), had a rock 'n' roll childhood that was anything but stable. As children of Tommy and Susan "Puss" Weber, parents who were at the epicenter of London's counter-cultural revolution, Weber and his younger brother Charley lead nomadic lives filled with rock music, fast cars, and very little schooling – at least of a traditional sort. "Some people can juggle soccer balls. Me? I can roll a killer joint in about 3 seconds flat," Weber jokes. "When I was [4], basically the reason for my existence was to roll the joints."

Daemon's TV has Uploaded Two New Images from the second episode of Season Six, "Who's that Girl" (all this episode title does is make me think of the song by Eve), the description and images themselves are quite spoilerific if you haven't already seen them, so if you wish to be UnSpoiled, then do not click on the cut below. I dunno why they just didn't upload the rest of the image set from the episode as well.

Two interesting bits of news came out last night: The big one is that Ellen DeGeneres was just named Paula Abdul’s replacement on American Idol. Crazy, right? Now, I know I write for a few different sites, but I haven’t gotten confused: this does relate back to Medium. American Idol gets ridiculous ratings– in the 20 million viewer range (oftentimes in the higher end of that range), so a new judge is big news. While Ellen is already quite popular, not to mention a multiple-Emmy winner, her show doesn’t get 20 million viewers a day. So there’s a good chance that new people will be tuning into her show in order to find out who this Ellen lady is who will be on Idol.

Are you still with me? Okay, good. This is the part where it relates back to Medium. As you probably guessed from the post title (because you’re super-smart and lovely, all of you) Patricia Arquette is going to be a guest on Ellen. She’s making an appearance September 25, Medium’s premiere date. Now, I’m not saying that the extra attention Ellen is receiving right now is going to make 20 million eyeballs tune into her show, which will then translate into 20 million eyeballs tuning into Medium. That, obviously, isn’t going to happen. What I am saying is that it certainly won’t hurt.

In addition to the fact that Ellen is going to be all over the news in the near future, the fact that CBS actually has the class doing, you know, publicity, is a pretty good sign. I know that the cast made talk show appearances under NBC, but they were few and far between. Hopefully Arquette’s interview with Ellen won’t be the only one the cast does to promote the premiere. If Medium is going to flourish on CBS, they need not only the loyal fans, but lots of new eyeballs as well.

I was just over on Allison DuBois’ website, and it looks as though the woman upon which Medium is based is going to be making appearances around the country starting in a few days. Since some of you are fans of the real-life medium, and were drawn to the show because of her or vice-versa, I thought you may be interested in checking her out. Have any of you seen her in person before? What happens at one of her appearances? Did you start watching the show because of her, or did you become interested in her because of the show? I’m very interested in your Allison DuBois experiences, so if you have any, please go ahead and leave them in the comments.

Here’s her schedule for the rest of the year:

As you guys may or may not remember, the Medium Panel at PaleyFest was last night, and it featured Glenn Gordon Caron, as well as basically the entire cast. It sounds like some of you went (as well as the real Allison and Joe DuBois), so we’re definitely interested in hearing about it from you in the comments. The Paley Center Twitter account was updated last night as the panel was going on, and you can read their live Tweets here.

Here are some highlights from the Twitter stream:

Maria Lark is awesome, as usual:

“We’re not mooching on her couch like ‘Hey can we watch some pay-per-view or something.”-Maria Lark on knowing Patricia Arquette off set

Patricia Arquette discusses her first impression of Jake Weber:

“I felt a kinship with Jake when I first met him. My first impression was that he was kind of preppyish and organized.”-Patricia Arquette

I am not surprised about this at all:

Patricia Arquette admits to have actually fallen asleep in their bed occasionally. Apparently it’s VERY comfortable.
